Description

Webinar organised for the ESO Member state industry suppliers to the Extreme Large Telescope (ELT) Instruments

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming ELT-Instrumentation Procurement Webinar on October 1st, 2025. This event is a follow-up to the successful ELT-Instruments-Information Day held in Geneva on April 7th, 2022, organised by the ESO Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs) of the ESO member states.

Why Attend? This webinar is designed to foster collaboration between industry and the scientific community, ensuring that the latest advancements in telescope technology meet the needs of both sectors. It's an excellent opportunity for suppliers to learn about upcoming projects and procurement opportunities, and for researchers to connect with potential partners.

What to Expect:  ELT instrumentation consortia will present their instrument to potential suppliers. The presentations covers the following topics:

  • A brief overview of the scientific goals
  • Instrument layout and consortium organization
  • Current status, schedule, and procurement budgets
  • Past, current and upcoming procurement opportunities with technical details
    • Main specifications / Number of items
    • Planning (prototype / procurement start / Hardware delivery date)
    • Procurement Procedure / which website
    • Who to contact for more information

Following the presentations, there will be a combined Q&A session.

Who Should Attend? We are reaching out to all ESO suppliers who attended earlier events and welcoming new participants. We are particularly interested in services related to:

  • Cryogenics
  •  Optics
  • Electronics
  • Mechanics
  • Steel construction
  • Software programming
  • Detectors
  • Control systems
  • And more!

We look forward to your participation in making this webinar a success and strengthening the collaboration between industry and the scientific community.
