Regina reported on highlights at SciCatCON2025:

• Governance is to come, details released in September this year, becomes valid in January 2026.

  • Foresees organs like steering committee, technical committee and (non-permanent) advisory board for solving conflicts.

• PSI case in more detail.

 

Regina described briefly the situation at DESY:

1. The preferred solution of having all metadata of data in one SciCat dataset to mint it with a DOI can be done but it will only be complementary as the user cannot find according to metadata when it differs within a beamtime.

2. SciCat works best per dataset, need to make use while ingestion.

 

Frank asked about whether we talked about data re-use. It was mentioned briefly.
