We are excited to announce that the CMWS Water Days 2026 will take place from Monday, February 23 to Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the DESY campus in Hamburg.
Following this, the CMWS Research Course on “Water-Driven Materials” will be held from Wednesday, February 25 in the afternoon to Thursday, February 26, 2026, also at the DESY campus.
CMWS Water Days 2026, February 23-25
The conference will begin with a plenary session providing updates on the status of CMWS and will continue with invited and contributed talks. We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the pillar meetings on Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday evening, you are warmly invited to join us for the Poster Session.
Call for contributed talks
Following the many excellent contributions from last year, we would again like to invite contributed talks (15+5 minutes) from all of you to further strengthen knowledge exchange and foster networking. To express your interest in giving a talk, please upload your abstract with your tentative title by January 9, 2026. The option to submit your title and abstract can be found on the left column of the page or at the buttom of the page. The submission option can be found in the left-hand column of the page.
The selected speakers will be notified by January 21, 2026.
We are also delighted to announce that the CMWS Water Days will once again include a public evening lecture on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at 7 PM in the DESY Auditorium (Building 5). The keynote lecture “Die Wasseroberfläche in Subnanometer Auflösung,“ will be delivered by Roland Netz (FU Berlin) in German. We warmly invite you to join us for this public event.

CMWS Research Course 2026, February 25-26
On Wednesday afternoon, as part of our program, we especially invite PhD students, Postdocs, and interested scientists to participate in the CMWS Research Course on Water: “Water-Driven Materials”, which continues until February 26. The course will feature lectures on topics such as fluid transport materials, mechanical materials, propagation and scattering of light and photonic materials, as well as energy materials.
