RISC at Schloss Hagenberg near Linz, Austria
- Carsten Schneider
- Johannes Blümlein
In the frame of European Initial Training Network LHCPhenoNet, the summer school at the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation (RISC) jointly organized with Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) (DESY) brings together mathematicians and physicists that are leading experts in the fields of (symbolic) summation, (symbolic) integration and special functions. The goal of the school is twofold. To perform calculations in the field of LHC phenomenology young researchers need to be trained in important technologies. At the same time we learn about these topics from different point of views in the context of particle physics, special functions and computer algebra. Ideally, the speakers and participants will inspire each other to apply the presented techniques and algorithms for challenging problems from QFT, and conversely, the speakers and participants make themselves aware of open problems that could be solved with the presented technologies.
The conference fee is 250 Euro (including lunches, conference dinner, and proceedings published afterwards). There are sufficiently many rooms reserved at the Summerhotel Hagenberg (around 300 m distance to the summer school). A single room costs 35 Euro and a double room costs 64 Euro per day (breakfast and internet connection are included).
Some pictures (including a group photo) of the conference can be found here.
The proceedings has been published in form of a book:
Computer Algebra in Quantum Field Theory: Integration, Summation and Special Functions. Texts and Monographs in Symbolic Computation, 2013. Springer Wien.
