The ”German-Russian Nanodiffraction beamline at PETRA III” project was established in the framework of the "Development and Use of Accelerator-Driven Photon Sources" cooperation agreement between the two countries. It aims at building and operating an undulator beamline for micro- and nano-diffraction applications in the course of the upcoming extension of the experimental facilities at the PETRA III storage ring.
The scientific case of the beamline will concentrate on X-ray scattering methods for fundamental and applied research in physics and chemistry of low-dimensional and nanoscale systems. The research will focus both on the structure of objects and on processes in them, including chemical processes and behavior under non-ambient conditions, i.e. high pressure, low temperature, electrical and magnetic fields, laser irradiation.
The aim of this workshop is to finalize the scientific case and main technical parameters of the beamline. The  agenda includes oral presentations on the status and research capabilities available at the PETRA III storage ring, the future prospects of the PETRA Extension project and topical presentations relevant for the scientific program of the beamline. A visit to the PETRA III facilities is planned for the first day of the workshop. The second day of the workshop will include scientific talks and a free discussion on topics relevant for the German-Russian beamline.
A joint workshop dinner will be held on Wednesday evening.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at the workshop.
