"Big data" is not only a topic in wLCG but it is becoming an emerging
trend in science everywhere: robust, resilient, and efficient transfers
between laboratories, computing centers, and, last but not least, the
laptops of the researchers are trivial operations only at first sight.
The goal is not only to exploit a large bandwidth when available, but
the challenge is to provide the user with a flexible tool which can fit
into multiple scenarios.
Globus Online, being a scalable Cloud service with GUI and CLI, meets
these needs -- it even can connect to dCache servers! It is accompanied
by Globus Connect for your laptop and Globus Storage for your data. The
Globus Online family is an ever growing group of online services that
follow the mantra "No IT required!".
This talk will focus on how the flexible Globus Online platform can
simplify the daily life of a user by showing a set of use cases in form
of a demo session.
