The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) offers a lot of data about a
system and/or board. This data provide information like voltages, temperatures, fan speed on system level and many others.
The questions that arise are:
• How can we get access to this data?
• How can we make use of this data?
• How can applications benefit from the available information?
