The current status of kaon decays is reviewed. In this talk, I shall concentrate on those decay modes where both theory and experiment allow high precision tests of Standard Model predictions. The presentation includes the determination of the Cabibbo angle, tests of CKM unitarity and lepton universality, the extraction of pion-pion scattering parameters from kaon decays and the discussion of rare decays mediated by flavour changing neutral currents.
