After months of preparation, the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School has opened its doors for the first PhD students in the four PIER research fields. Our first group of scholarship holders is enthusiastically working on their doctoral projects, an ever-increasing number of PhD students use the graduate school’s services, and soon a new group of outstanding PhD students will start their research projects with a scholarship of the Joachim Herz Stiftung.
To mark the official kick-off, to welcome the new PhD students, and to honour this year’s scholarship winners, the PIER team cordially invites all PhD students, postdocs, scientists and all other persons with an interest in the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School and its research fields to our opening event on
Tuesday, 29 October 2013 at 4:30 pm in the Cafeteria (Kantine, building 9) on Campus Bahrenfeld (DESY).
The PIER Helmholtz Graduate School is the “E” in PIER and is jointly funded by the Helmholtz Association, Universität Hamburg and DESY. PIER stands for the “Partnership for Innovation, Education and Research” of DESY and Universität Hamburg in the research fields particle and astroparticle physics, nanosciences, photon science, and infection and structural biology.
The graduate school is family-friendly. Please let usknow upon registration if you wish to use our childcare facilities.
