If you prefer a hotel or if the DESY hostel is completely full, please contact our secretary Alla Grabowsky (alla.grabowsky@desy.de) in advance. She will send you a signed form that is needed by the hotel (of any hotel in Hamburg, new regulation since 1.1.2013) that will tell them that you are at DESY for business reasons. This form has to be handed over to the hotel staff before your invoice is issued. Without that form, you will have to pay some Euro tax per day per person (not per room). If you stay at the DESY hostel, you do not need that form.
