Summary

- We have received the DSF fund and can now hire a postdoc. We also received support from the XFEL director for doing this study.

- We had a lot of discussion about the possible location of the experiment. The critical question is how to get the laser photons to the electron beam. The possible options discussed for the location of the laser-electron IP were before UN2 near the shaft (HS4) or after UN2 before the dump (XSDU1).

- In general the laser appears to be the most critical and most expensive aspect

- We discussed that it might be good to have a two-stage approach, initially with a ANGUS-like laser with which we access eta~1.5 and then a 2nd stage with a more powerful laser and/or other improvements learned from stage-1

- Unfortunately we ran out of time before Jenny had a chance to give her talk. We postponed this to the next meeting.

- We will now start a list of questions and tasks we need to do to make (and track) progress

- We will have a monthly meeting, usually Thursdays at 10am for 2h.

- We will plan a 2-day workshop for Aug. 22/23 2018 at DESY and aim to attract theorists and experimentalists to understand the physics case and the experimental challenges

- We will create a mailing list and a webpage for communications.

- We will invite further interested people to join the mailing list and join the monthly meetings.
