The closest airport is the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse (IATA codes BSL, MLH and EAP), a large EasyJet hub, but also served by other national companies. Between Freiburg and EuroAirport a shuttle bus service operates on a regular basis. There are about 15 direct bus connections to Freiburg per day, at 23 EUR per ride, tickets can be bought on the bus. To access the shuttle bus to Freiburg it is important to exit the Airport to France and not to Switzerland. The bus stop is right in front of the french exit.
The closest international airports are Frankfurt (IATA code FRA, 2h) and Zurich (IATA code ZRH, Switzerland, 2:20h). In both cases you take the train to travel to Freiburg. FRA might be more convenient as there are direct trains between the airport and Freiburg main station.
The Freiburg main station is close to the city center and only a 10 mins walk to the venue.
Within Freiburg, you can either walk, use the tram/buses or Taxi services or rent a bike. You absolutely don't need a car in Freiburg. Be aware that parking is not easy!
