Description

The support of HTTP/WebDAV, provided by frameworks for scientific data access like DPM, dCache, STORM, FTS3 and XROOTD, is very advanced and shows its flexibility as it approaches the needed level of maturity. In this talk we discuss its technical status, together with some of the initiatives that explore the HTTP/WebDAV ecosystem in HEP production setups. These include access from the ATLAS infrastructure, efficient bridging of authentication/authorization domains, supporting volunteer computing, creating very large storage federations, consistency checks, and integrating S3 storage from various providers.
