Description
Far-from-equilibrium nonabelian plasmas appear in many cosmological pre/reheating scenarios as well as in the early stages of heavy-ion collisions. I my talk, I discuss how these far-from-equilibrium plasmas approach equilibrium and how hydrodynamical flow is generated. I discuss how the non-equilibrium evolution can be quantitatively described using a combination of classical Yang-Mills theory and effective kinetic theory, and show results on thermalization times from numerical simulations.
