Accomodation

DESY hostel

Please make your reservation directly at the hostel using the form, but not before you register for the workshop.
Please add "AAHEP9" in the additional text field.

Keep in mind this is a hostel with limited service.

Hotel

The Mercure Hotel is right next to DESY.
For a limited number of rooms we arranged a special rate, which is not available via the normal hotel reservation:
99.32 EUR (3. and 4. May) 
187.00 EUR (5. May) - increased price due to Hafengeburtstag
single room, breakfast included, double room available on request.
We can guarantee this rate until March 6, no cancelation after April 18.
Please select 'Mercure hotel' at registration. You will receive a booking confirmation by DESY.

Networking

Guest network

This option requires you to fill out a Web form on our portal server and register your mobile device. You will receive login data and password via email. The DESY-Guest WLAN is unencrypted. More information

EDUROAM

For guests, whose home institutes are participating in the project eduroam, we offer this wireless guest network connection. For registered user this is a quick and easy way to obtain a secure access to the Internet without any further registration.

Getting around

From the Hamburg airport Fuhlsbüttel to DESY

By public transportation:

Continue with city train line S1 (direction Blankenese/Wedel) to Othmarschen station. Then go on with bus line 1 (direction Schenefelder Holt) to the main entrance of DESY (bus stop Zum Hünengrab/DESY).
If you stay at the Mercure hotel get off the bus at Trabrennbahn Bahrenfeld.

From Altona station you can also take bus line 2 (direction Schenefeld) to the side entrance of DESY (bus stop Luruper Chaussee/DESY - which is closest to the hotel).

Travel time approx 45 min, cost around 35 Euro

The meeting will take place in building 1b, seminar room 4, 2nd floor.

The library is in building 1d, ground floor - just visit us.

The side entrance is open Mon-Fri 6AM - 7PM. Pedestrians can use the intercom to open the gate at any time.

The canteen is open Mon-Fri 11AM - 2PM,
breakfast and snacks in the caffeteria: Mon-Fri 7AM - 11PM, Sat 8AM - 3PM, Sun 10AM - 5PM
I.e. no food at DESY on Sunday morning or evening!
