Description
A review of the basic special functions occurring in perturbative field theory diagrams is given. New results concerning generalised and cyclotomic polylogarithms originating from Feynman diagrams that contribute to the massive Wilson coefficients in DIS at 3-loops are also outlined. Some emphasis on numerical evaluation is given and how numerical issues relate to special functions and number theoretic considerations.
