Beate - funding and administrative issues

- To invite Matt Zepf and Uli Schramm to join LUXE and the monthly meetings.
- Noam Hod (Weizmann ) may be interested to join LUXE. Beate will meet him next week.
- Will look into having a web-page set up and developing a logo.
Florian - machine aspects

- The question was raised of whether a permanent dipole be used ?
Sasha - detector aspects

- Expect laser beam to be circular so having one transverse dimension which can be varied is reasonable/realistic.
- Low number of positrons - need to account for noise and background - although should be able to measure. A full GEANT simulation will tell us that - for the future.
- Is such a high field magnet needed ? Detector placement may be easier. A requirement is that the 17.5 GeV beam needs to be separated by 20 cm from initial beam line at a distance of 10 m.

- Status of workshop write-up was discussed. We have contributions from theory, synergies and detectors. Matthew to chase up others.
- Massimo had discussions with David Reis: Can we excite interest of atomic and molecular physics community ?
