PIER is pleased to announce its next PIER Innovation Lunch Talk " Xploraytion...an example of a successful scientific service startup" taking place remotely (via Zoom) on 14 January 2021, 12 noon.

Scientific Service Companies act as innovative problem solvers and facilitate applicable tailor-made solutions to industrial and societal challenges involving industry and academia. As intermediaries they lower the burden for businesses to get in touch with research infrastructures. Being knowledgeable about research instruments and methods are key features of their competence. In our next digital PIER Innovation Lunch Talk, Bernhard Hesse, CEO of the Berlin-based scientific service startup Xploraytion, will share his experience of setting up an analytical service provider. In addition, Uwe Sassenberg, project lead of CAROTS, a European funded project led by DESY for the promotion of companies like Xploraytion, will talk about opportunities for researchers thinking about starting their own scientific service company.

We will send around the Zoom link to all registered participants shortly before the event. Deadline for registration is 11 January 2021.
