Online documentary screening "Picture a Scientist"
28 April 2021, 7 p.m., online
Join our exclusive online screening of the inspiring and eye-opening documentary PICTURE A SCIENTIST. After a short introductory speech by Mildred Dresselhaus Guest Professor Dr. Caterina Vozzi, we will then proceed to watch the film together:
In PICTURE A SCIENTIST a biologist, a chemist and a geologist take you on a journey through the experiences of their academic career - as women in science. They are exposed to discrimination from the very start and the film illustrates their ongoing struggle for recognition, respect and gender equality.
A struggle that many women in science, especially women of color, are still facing today. The documentary gives a hopeful outlook as it tells a story of solidarity and activism. It is a story about brave female leaders in science who stand up against injustice and manage to spark a global discourse on advancing equality in science.
