Description
The composite Higgs mechanism is a very well motivated scenario for electroweak symmetry breaking. The Higgs boson emerges as a (massless) Nambu-Goldstone boson (NGB) from a spontaneous global symmetry breaking in a strongly interacting sector living at the TeV scale, providing an elegant solution to the hierarchy problem. After a brief review on how the minimal version of this scenario, based on the SO(5)/SO(4) coset, can successfully pass all the electroweak precision tests and solve the flavor problem, I will present several non-minimal coset extensions, which exhibit a richer spectrum of pseudo-NGB's, with very interesting phenomenology.
