Many places in Germany mandate the use of a medical face mask. This refers to e.g. a surgical type mask or a FFP2/N95 mask. Make sure that you take such a mask with you and carry it with you at all times.
Additionally, restaurants, hotels and some other shops and businesses require a proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test.

Mask mandate
Mask mandates are in effect in public indoor areas, this includes trains and train stations, airports, shops and restaurants. Note that cloth masks and masks with breathing valves are generally not accepted.
Contact tracing in restaurants
You are required to give contact data when visiting a restaurant. This is handled differently in each place. Restaurants will additionally check your vaccination status.
