Description

This workshop is intended for future ILDG users to learn about the current progress in modernizing and re-activating ILDG and to practice basic steps to download, markup and upload configurations.

Since the modernization of ILDG is an ongoing and far from being completed effort, one of the primary objectives of both the workshop and particularly, the exercises on Day Two, will be to uncover deficiencies pertaining to the ease of use of ILDG and the associated metadata schema (e.g., for the specific markup of your configurations). The insights from participant feedback will be a valuable input for improving and developing ILDG.

Each day will start with introductory lectures at 7:00 UTC (that will also be recorded). The hands-on exercises shall be carried out in smaller groups to have the possibility to look into collaboration-specific aspects and to adjust to different time zones

For an active participation in the excercises a few simple preparatory steps, see README.md in gitlab, are requested before the workshop, (e.g. setup and test of a minimal software environment on the participant's computer, registration with a grid certificate, and availability of example data for their use-case).
