Intro:
- today 3 talks
- next time 3 talks, probably last meeting before the ws
- NA63 result from this morning: arXiv:2307.03464
Thomas and Sasha:
- try to use stepping action in dd4hep to allow flexibility and also the type of the sensitivity (e.g. optical) —> this is important for the Cherenkov for example.
- how to proceed discussion? —> at the workshop
- once the geometry is imported from GDML, it can later be edited from the xml & C++ files
Raquel:
- slide 5, the top left three plots are swapped for R=10,20,30 for L=100? —> probably not, with the reason being that this is only status==0 so with r=10cm many neutrons actually escape from the sides rather than from the rear.
- how long did it take to produce the 2 BXs? —> model is full luxe, with the KIT resources it takes ~2 days per BX!
- what about K_L (gives pi0’s)? --> will check
- Ivo: what is the cost of the tungsten for 20cm radius and 100cm length? —> should check in China
- Halina: once we have a concrete technology assumption we should check the impact of the low-E neutrons too
Arka:
- we can do the sampling in 2 regions of r, say below 700 and above that? Problem with stitching?
- can we do the sampling surface perpendicular to the dump surface? —> not too interesting since this is the wall is perpendicular to the actual z axis.
