Description
Real singlet models are simple extensions of the SM as these models add
a new Higgs-like scalar that transforms as a singlet under the SM gauge
group. For the case of an additional particle that is heavier than twice
the SM-Higgs this scalar, labelled S, could play a role in
resonant-enhanced pp$\rightarrow$hh production. We here simulate samples for such
scenarios for the inclusive process, the scenario where pp$\rightarrow$S$\rightarrow$hh only,
as well as production without the intermediate resonance.
By comparing distributions of these three processes in different
observables, such as the invariant mass or the final state
transverse momenta, taking the finite width of the heavy scalar into
account, we discuss the importance of interference effects for di-Higgs
production.
