Travel to KIT

The 2nd ROCK-IT project meeting takes place at KIT Campus North, Bldg. 348 - KARA seminar room.

Please note that the access to KIT Campus North is restricted and you have to register at the main entrance. You will get a visitor pass for the time of the workshop.

Helmholtz has a special offer for train tickets for traveling to Helmholtz organized events. (Note that you might be asked for a document confirming your participation in a HGF event. The email confirming your registration is sufficient.)

 

Arrival KIT Campus North first day

Please note that you need a visitor pass to enter KIT Campus north! 

Therefore pleas register at the office at main entrance (Hermann-von-Helmholtz-Platz 1, Bus stop "KIT Campus Nord Südtor"). You need your name and a identity card (Personalausweis) or passport (for non-German citizens).

You can get there 

  • using the KIT Shuttle from the city centre. It leaves at Adenauerring in front of Adenauerring 2 (stop is indicated e.g. in the campus map). Timetable
  • with tram S1/S11 till Leopoldstraße and Bus 195 to KIT Campus Nord Südtor. Please check the KVV homepage for connections. If you stay in Neureut/Eggenstein or west of the city center this connection might be better for you.

 

Second/third day of the Workshop

The public transport options to KIT Campus North are limited:

  • There is a tram twice in the morning (S1 to KIT Campus North) leaving e.g. at Karlsruhe Marktplatz 7:12 am and 8:02 am. The workshop starts at 9 am, thus you can take the second tram. Make sure you are in the right part of the tram and have your visitor pass and passport/identity card with you.
  • There is a shuttle from KIT Campus South leaving at Adenauerring in front of Adenauerring 2 (stop is indicated e.g. in the campus map). Timetable
