Description
Almost everyone involved in the HEP community has to have basic software development skills in order to do some analysis. However, software development is often underestimated and labeled as "just something I need to do in order to finish my work". There are numerous basic rules in software development which can be of valuable help in order to write good software. And there is of course, no such thing as 'perfect coding styles'. All programmers have their own personal preferences and we are all still human beings! However, all of us can try to follow very simple rules to write better software. This talk: * will highlight some of the most important 'basic rules', * will focus on rules which are programming language independent, * hopefully will convince many of you to stick to some of the rules. ================= EVO connection: Title: Analysis Centre Seminars Description: Analysis Centre Seminars Community: Terascale Phone Bridge ID: 1312410 Meeting URL: http://evo.vrvs.org/evoGate/koala.jnlp?meeting=MaMDMt222sDeDi9M98DI9a
