Description
The substructure of jets of energetic hadrons is an important tool in the search for new physics at the LHC. I will focus on two (quite different) examples: the mass and electric charge of a jet. I will present their calculation from first principles in QCD, and compare the results to Monte Carlo programs and LHC data.
