Workshop 3 Strengths based leadership skills

Workshop 3.
Strengths based leadership skills. Get empowered to empower others
18 + 19 May 2017, SR 4a, building 1b, DESY, 9:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

The Workshop is about: Confident vulnerability. Helping individuals know what their strengths are and what they are not – and becoming comfortable with both. Confident vulnerability leaves individuals open, curious, willing to receive others’ perspectives and synergize through their differences. It is a necessary prerequisite to interdependence.

Strengths application: Exploring strengths in real-time through experiential learning – this allows individuals to go beyond their naming of strengths to see how strengths impact their ability to create outstanding sustained results.

Participants will learn to:

+ Unlock their strengths’ capacity.
+ Increase time spent in high performance/energy activities.
+ Reduce conflict through strengths.
+ Apply strengths to solve problems.
+ Create strengths-based alliances and teams.

Workshop Learning Experience Agenda

Learning both contributions and needs of strengths – spotting them in both self and others. Understand and embrace weaknesses. Recognize strengths over-use, under-use, and areas of non-talent. Understanding how to release strengths more effectively, what gets in the way, and how to remove the barriers that interfere with collaborative contribution. Experiential discovery of the expansiveness and limitations of one’s own strengths lens – how to open to others’ strengths so as to increase one’s perspective and capability. Using strengths as tools for responding to challenges – mitigating frustration and wasted productivity. Exploring how to use strengths to create clear expectations, to communicate effectively, and to manage toxic differences. Examining activities based on performance and energy criteria – identifying strategies for increasing A+ Strengths Zone time where performance and engagement is at its peak.

Trainer: Carsten Seiffert is Germany’s only provider of strengths-based trainings from the perspective of positive psychology utilizing the methods developed by Strengths Strategy Inc., USA.
