Description
The PDF school 2009 covers hard scattering reactions at colliders, both from the theoretical and the experimental side. Emphasis is put on the current information on parton distribution functions (PDFs) and their impact on predcitions and measurements of cross sections at the terascale. The lectures are targeted at Ph.D. students and young postdocs. In addition to the lectures, exercises on the usage of PDFs, PDF error evaluations and related issues will help to deepen the understanding of the topics covered in the lectures. The final day of the school is devoted to a PDF4LHC workshop meeting in which new developments on PDFs for the Large Hadron Collider will be discussed. The school fee is 50 Euros and has to be paid during the registration. On Thursday evening, a conference dinner will be organised. Participants are supposed to arrange for their own accomodation. We recommend starting with the DESY hostel - see http://guest-services.desy.de/hostel_in_hamburg/
