2. Vortrag

Driving the paradigm shift towards Open Science: FAIR data (Dr. Carlos Casorrán, European Commission, DG Research & Innovation, Unit G.4 Open Science)

Abstract:
Open Science, represents an effective policy solution to overcome many of the problems brought about by an overabundance of data. Open Science holds the key to improving the quality, efficiency and creativity of research, but also the trust by society in science. The European Commission, as a staunch supporter of Open Science, has been promoting its mainstreaming through pilots and requirements in a stepwise approach since 2008, generating traction one step at a time. During this talk the next steps in the promotion of Open Science in Horizon Europe will be discussed, specifically as concerns the management of data and other research outputs. In addition, other activities undertaken by the Commission to promote the FAIRness of data will be discussed, particularly in the context of the current pandemic.

Der Vortrag wird auf Englisch gehalten.
