Intro:
Gianluca:
- prefers last option
- need 2 collimators to block wide-angle particles (collimator is surrounding the pipe)
- need to look at the radius of the (now it is 2.4 cm)
- check the bkg coming from the pipe (wide angle)
Marco & Sergej:
- profiler should not stay in vacuum (movable, etc) —> prefers option 2
- vacuum chambers needs to be pumped as well independently due to the different volumes
- Sergej will send a sketch 
Louis:
- we have a pump planned for the vacuum chambers
- magnet will be changed
- should use the same design 
- consider Cherenkov behind the screen?
- target: a wire was also discussed —> should we consider still?
  - Maryna:
    - foil will survive the radiation,
    - with the wire we wanted to reduce the number of pairs in the lyso but the lanex can take the rate
    - Gianluca: technically it is easier to use a foil
Matthew:
- try a fully triangular chamber (at least this is possible on one side of the C-shaped magnet)

 

Marco:
- how close do you want to be to the: 10-20cm distance to the Kapton
- need to design of the mechanical support
  - Marco will soon send Sasha a conceptual design so we can put something preliminary but reasonable in the model
  - CAD later

 

Kyle & Gianluca:
- discussed the bkg for the profiler - no surprises.
- complementary measurement of the beam profile with no cost (using the y-coordinate)

 

Matt & Felipe:
- maybe not need to have 2 IP chambers
- Sasha: the idea behind the current design is to provide clean env for the IP. The new design will have a lot of bkg in the IP (~1e10 for the gamma beam vs 1e6 for the bkg). 
- S/R improves by a factor of ~10 just due to the shorter distance between the converter and the IP
- Louis: there is not much place for the IP box in the proposed upstream location as the box is designed now.
- Should take this to Beate and the larger LUXE forum.
- Stewart can check how much clearance do we have in the tunnel

 

Arka:
- John sees the same more or less (will upload slides to the bkg-studies slot later)
- Sasha will increase the stats so we have something reasonable for analysis before we have a new model
