- Shan: does the initial phase impact after 10 cycles in CP? No impact.

Stewart:
- title is: machine related studies (rather than just halo)
- halo-accelerator, beam-residual_gas, synchrotron radiation
- 1-micron-level variation of the focus is achievable
- assume 1e-8 mbar? —> no it is 1e-5 (slide 12) but this also depends on the gas composition.
- need the _HP physics list, no?
- beam-gas interaction: can the photons converge to pairs in the material? Still we see very little positrons and electrons so probably OK.
- how to integrate in the LUXE model?
- Louis: can we do this study for different beam energies? —> need full tracking simulation (lower beam energy / lower bunch charge = more bkg?)
- Sasha will talk with Stewart to integrate but the deadline for readiness is when the model is more ~fixed (after updates from Louis and Karsten)
Sasha:
- used a “wide needle” but it can be “cut” to the desired width
- started with the photon beam
- can you run with e-beam?
- need a cone-like tip of the beam to cope with the e-beam rate (would be good to move in the vertical direction)
- need to see how the holder of the needle is impacting the bkg (due to the photon beam hitting it).
