If you come by plane, you can reach DESY via the public transport or via taxi. We recommend you to use the route planner https://www.hvv.de for the best connection at the time of your arrival. Tickets for the S-Bahn can be bought at the red machines in the luggage area or in the S-Bahn entrance at the airport. The S-Bahn is marked by a green "S" sign.
However, please note that Bus number 1 will not stop in front of DESY (Notkestrasse 85) the days of the ICFA seminar, due to road constructions. The bus will stop at the corner between Osdorfer Landstrasse and Zum Huenengrab, stop Gross Flottbeker Strasse. You will have to walk along zum Huenengrab (about 10 minutes walk, see map) to reach the main DESY entrance. If you have a heavy suitcase, you may want to use a taxi to reach DESY the first day. The buses number 2, 3, X3 close to the second entrance on Luruper Chaussee are not affected.
DESY is an open campus and you do not need anything to enter it, just walk in. You may want to ask a map of the Campus at the lodge at the entrances, it may be useful.
The pre-registration on Monday will start from 3 PM, until 6 PM, in Seminar Room 1 (see SR1 on DESY Campus map), which is opposite to the entrance of Building 1. We ask you to profit of the pre-registration to avoid big queues on Tuesday morning. The registration on Tuesday morning will be in the Foyer of the main Auditorium and coffee will be served.
