Dresden is the capital and the second largest city of Saxony with over 500,000 habitants. The city has a long-standing history and was particular famous for its architecture and culture. With its Baroque-style architecture and numerous world-renowned museums and art collections, Dresden was often called the "Elbflorenz" (Florence of the Elbe). The Technische Universität Dresden was founded in 1828 and is one of the 10 largest universities in Germany having currently over 34,000 students.
