Description
The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) was proposed by Chinese scientists in Sept. 2012, shortly after the discovery of the Higgs boson at LHC in July 2012. CEPC would enable the precision study of the Higgs boson and facilitate the search for new physics beyond the standard model. The accelerator design and the technology R&D of CEPC has been evolving since the launch of the project under the balance among the machine performance, mastering of the key technologies, as well as cost and power consumption. The Conceptual Design Report (CDR) has been released in 2018 and the Technical Design Report (TDR) will be released in 2023. In this report, we will summarize the status of the accelerator design of CEPC as well as the development of the key technologies.
