Description
Positron sources are challenging for all high-energy lepton colliders due to the high luminosity, stability and polarization requirements imposed by phyiscs. In this talk an overview will be given on the different concepts of positron sources. The focus will be set on the currently most mature designs as, for instance, the undulator-based positron source, foreseen for the ILC baseline design, and its adaption for further future collider designs as, for instance, the HALHF concept. An overview will be given on current R&D issues within the ITN initiative as, e.g. the focusing system, the target loads and the polarization as well as their relevance for achieving the envisaged physics goals.
