Content of the Workshop
Grant writing is a challenge which constantly accompanies most scientific careers especially in experimental sciences. Sufficient funding is essential from the beginning on to establish a productive framework to build on.

Learn about the different categories of funding with special focus on the major types of third party funding and the funding lines which are usually most relevant for young researchers. How to find out about funding opportunities? What kind of research is of most interest to the respective funding bodies? How to approach them? What kind of aspects should be stressed? What are important additions to the proposal? How are proposals evaluated?

The workshop will feature interactive lectures and group exercises leading to a rough concept of an individual proposal as an example. Bringing a device with internet access may be helpful.
