The conference will be held in the Physics Center of Kiel University in the north of the city. All hotels on the west side of the "Kieler Förde" and in the south of the Kiel Canal have good bus connections to the physics center. Just be aware that the area around the main railway station and the close east side of the "Förde" may be identified as fear-inducing spaces, especially late at night.
Central public transport is by bus, see the netplan of the KVG for Details. The Physics Center is close to the Endstation "Botanischer Garten" of Lines 1, X60, and 81. However, the lines going through the "Olshausenstraße" (61,62) also move close to the Physics Center.
Bikesharing is possible with Sprottenflotte (DonkeyRepublic), 30 min rides are for free. Scooters are available all over the city from Dott, Bolt, and Voi.
