Description







The Meeting is devoted to integration of hardware and software solutions for the LLRF and synchronization systems at FLASH and XFEL. Main focus will be on effective usage of available resources and unification of developments for both machines and research fields.
The workshop will take place at The Central Auditorium of The Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of The Warsaw University of Technology.
The meeting will start 13:00 on Wednesday, December 14. Sessions will be held until 18:00 and from 19:00 there will be a spontaneous evening Warsaw sightseeing tour. It will strongly depend on actual temperature and weather conditions.
Thursday, 15 December, will be a whole day devoted to presentations and discussions - between 9:00 and 18:00. The workshop dinner will take place in the "Dekanta" restaurant (typical Polish dishes) by Marszałkowska Street 55/73.
Friday sessions will last from 9:00 to 14:00.

2. Hotel:
We have made a preliminary reservation of rooms for two nights (14/15 and 15/16 Dec) in The MDM hotel, 5 minutes of walk distance from the Faculty.

The price for single room/night including breakfast is ~240 zł (~55€) and ~270 zł (~63€) for double occupation.
Reservations with discount prices must be done until the 6th November. Later reservations will still be possible but on higher price and are not guaranteed due to high hotel occupation in December. In case of double room reservation please send requests (double room and name(s)) to Mrs. Patrycja Hojczyk <P.Hojczyk_at_ise.pw.edu.pl>

3. Lunches will be provided for all registered participants on Thursday and Friday at 12:00 in the WUT Canteen (Stołówka Centralna PW). Please send requests (until 20th Nov.) to Mrs. Hojczyk if you would like to get lunch on Wednesday 14 Dec. at 12:00.

4. How to get to Warsaw

- By plane: There are direct flights. 14.12.2011, Hamburg (HAM) 8:35 - Warsaw (WAW) 10:05. This is sufficient to get to WUT before the meeting on Wednesday.

From the airport to WUT one can get Taxi to "Plac Politechniki" or "Nowowiejska 15/19". Please use a corporate taxi (with company name, telephone numbers clearly visible on the car). Rough taxi cost should be between 30 and 35 zl (7-9 EUR)

One can also take bus no. 188. Directly from airport to bus stop "Metro Politechnika", which is next to the Faculty of Electronics. Travel time about 20 min. Ticket cost 3.60zl (~0.8 EUR)

- By train: there are several convenient train connections (ICE to Berlin and EC to Warsaw). Travel takes about 8 hours. Traveling by train would require arriving to warsaw on the 13th December.

To get to WUT one can take a tram no. 10 direction "Wyścigi". Tram stop "Plac Politechniki".

5. Return flights 16.12.2011 WAW 17:25 - HAM 19:00 and WAW 19:45 - HAM 21:10
6. Registration will be possible until 20th November.
7. There is a conference fee in amount of 100EUR. The fee can be paid in advance to the university account: 93 1240 2092 9522 1033 0100 0000, SWIFT: PKOPPLPW (with comment: "Participant name, LLRF Meeting").
